Job Overview | - Serves as the Talent and Organization consulting leader for Japan and a key member of the APAC team of talent and organization consultants.
- Works as an internal advisor to Business Leaders and Business HR
(BHR) Leaders in the area of Talent and Organization Development. - Plans, executes, and delivers talent and organization strategies and
interventions for the different business divisions across Medical Devices, Nutrition and Diagnostics in Japan and selected markets across APAC (when needed) which drives both short-term and long-term business success as well as providing value to the workforce.

Job Responsibilities
- Work with business leaders and affiliate/division Business HR (BHR) leaders to assess, diagnose, plan and implement strategic talent and organizational solutions to support business strategy.
- Provides consulting support to Business Leaders and BHR Leaders and/or key customers and
stakeholders on executing key talent and organization strategies. - Measures and reports the impact of talent and organization interventions using evaluation,
metrics, focus groups and performance results. - Proactively works with Talent Development partners to design and implement talent and
organization initiatives and plans. This may include organization/team effectiveness, leadership development, culture development and change management. - Assess the organization's learning and development needs across all levels, identifying and
prioritizing critical skills, recommending near and long-term capability and skill requirements to effectively execute Abbott’s strategy. - Measures and reports the impact of Talent and OE support to achieve business objectives.
Driving a culture of continuous improvement and effectiveness through the development of strong relationships with key players. - May lead or participate in talent management-related activities such as Cross-Division TMR
preparation and facilitation, talent pipeline readiness and talent development. - Strategize, develop and implement Key Talent and Leadership development programs for talent pools in Japan
- Facilitate leadership team meetings, partner with BHR leaders to design interventions for
different business divisions. - Facilitate new leader assimilation and leadership team effectiveness for new leaders and
leadership teams to enable business success - May require occasional domestic and international travel for business meetings and training.

Position Accountability/Scope
- Reports to APAC Director for Talent and Organization Consulting (TOC) and is part of the group
of Affiliate TOC Consulting Leaders in APAC driving APAC strategy and the respective affiliate priorities. - Leads an experienced TOC manager in running the consulting practice as well as providing in-
direct oversight to L&D operations in Japan. - Partners with Affiliate Business HR Directors/Leaders and Business Leaders (Division Vice
Presidents and General Managers) in T&OD solutions and executing related initiatives and projects. - Aligns with regional BHR Directors from different business divisions on global and APAC priorities including executing global/APAC initiatives within Japan and selected markets across APAC.
- Interacts with Global Talent Development and TOC organization to align talent, OD, and
consulting strategies, best practices, and methodologies/tools.

Preferred Qualifications
- ~10 years of Talent and Organization Development experience in a variety of disciplines
including organization development, consulting, org design, training, talent & leadership development, talent management, performance management and change management. Other HR-related experiences across other HR practice areas would be an added advantage. - Experienced in working in internal consulting roles/capacity or external consulting roles in large professional consulting services firms.
- Experienced and comfortable in working in large, complex global organizations including
working in an affiliate business structure outside the corporate HQ. - Good experience in partnering with different BHR teams and HR Practice Centers in a matrixed
affiliate/regional/global HR operating model including effectively interacting with different colleagues from different countries across APAC - Proven success in managing senior stakeholders at a Division Vice President / General Manager
level as well as different stakeholders across different affiliates in APAC. - Proven ability to plan, innovate, organize, prioritize, and effectively manage multiple complex
projects concurrently in an agile manner within a fast-paced environment.
