Job Responsibilities
The PR Manager (Japan) will bring rich local knowledge and a broad network of media contacts that can be incorporated into the corporation's PR strategy, with the core objective of enhancing the corporation and the company’s brand awareness in the Japanese market.
- Public Relations
- Develop, define and execute PR communications strategies in consultation with respective
stakeholders and business partners to increase brand awareness in the Japanese market. - Formulate a holistic and strategic communication framework that is aligned with the
corporation’s overarching global strategy. - Propose and/or collaborate with other teams to implement creative PR campaigns and secure coverage beyond products and services, including but not limited to Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) campaigns. - Identify opportunities for media placements, executive interviews, PR events, and partnerships with the overall aim of growing brand awareness among target audiences.
- Work closely with internal/external counterparts to create compelling contents with well-
defined and consistent messages and develop fact-based stories for mass media releases. - Responsible for generating PR outcomes in the Japanese market; to ensure communication
plans are executed timely and delivered within the allocated budget.
- Crisis/Risk Management
- Support in identifying risks that could impact the corporation, recommend and put in place
measures to minimize the risk. - Evaluate PR risks, react to crisis situations and manage escalation promptly.
- Media Relations
- Play an engaging role and maintain good relationships with targeted mainstream local and
global media representatives in the market, and strategize the media engagement programs aimed at fulfilling the corporation's PR goals.
- Others
- Monitor and analyze competitors from both global and local perspectives.
- Identify, establish and sustain strategic partnerships and collaborations with key organizations to expand corporate presence and visibility in the market.

Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of PR or corporate communications experience; experience in government
Ministries or agencies is a plus. - Proven track record of securing global coverage and executing PR campaigns/activities.
- Strong network of contacts and relationships with local and global media.
- Experience in managing PR activities in Japanese or other East Asian markets.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills in Japanese.
- Fluent English or Chinese required; ability to work in both languages would be a plus.
- Demonstrate an understanding of mainstream international media platforms, and international media work experience desired.
- Strategic and out-of-the-box thinking when developing PR ideas; experience in social media
marketing and creative campaigns desired. - Ability to travel occasionally.
